There are many supports and resources available for parents, caregivers, and families within York Region. These resources are available to help parents and caregivers on their parenting journey, as they raise their children and support youth to grow up and transition to adulthood.

Parenting education programs focus on building parenting practices that support the children-caregiver relationship. Learn alongside other parents and caregivers through classes or other educational opportunities.

Positive parenting is about creating a nurturing environment based on mutual respect, where children feel safe and supported, and grow into happy, responsible adults. The purpose of positive discipline is to teach children boundaries, values, and behaviour in a non-punitive way.
