Pride Pre-Service Training
The Parent Resources for Information, Development, and Education (PRIDE) pre-service training is for individuals who are interested in fostering. PRIDE is Ontario’s standardized training curriculum for foster, kinship in care, and adoptive applicants. This is a mandatory 27-hour training that all applicants are required to complete as part of the assessment and approval process.
After completing the PRIDE training program, individuals will meet with a member of our Foster Care team to further explore if fostering is a good fit for the applicant’s lifestyle.
Once individuals are approved to become foster parents, they continue to work with their Foster Care Support Worker to develop a personalized learning plan and continue to attend various training and skills development courses.
