Today, York Region CAS celebrates the International Day of Charity đź’šđź’›

This special day, established by the United Nations, honours the legacy of Mother Teresa and reminds us of the power of giving. It’s a moment to reflect on the impact we can make together in our communities and beyond.

In line with the International Day of Charity, the York Region Children’s Fund is committed to enhancing the lives of children, youth, and families in the care and protection of York Region Children’s Aid Society.

With the community’s support, the York Region Children’s Fund helps provide vital childhood enrichment, educational support, and compassionate aid that improves the quality of life for children and youth in our community who have faced abuse, neglect or other threats to their wellbeing.

In addition, The Children’s Special Projects Fund was created to support activities and needs outside of the Ministry’s mandated funding. This fund supports the experiences and needs that add richness and normalcy to the lives of the children and youth we serve, such as recreational activities, music lessons, household items, tuition fees, texts, laptops, and other school supplies. This past year, approximately 165 children benefited from this program!
