March is recognized as National Social Work Month, and March 3 to 9, 2025, is Social Work Week in Ontario.
This is a time to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of social workers and child protection workers and the critical role they play in supporting individuals and families in our communities.
Whether advocating for social justice, supporting individuals in need, or fostering positive change, social workers are the heart and soul of building a better world.
Wherever You Are, #SoAreWE
This year’s theme, “Wherever You Are, So Are We,” highlights the availability, versatility, and dedication of social workers in providing care. As the largest group of mental health professionals in Ontario, social workers play a crucial role in ensuring Ontarians have access to care. They meet people where they are, when it matters most—whether in schools, hospitals, homes, libraries, community centres, etc.
At York Region CAS, our social workers and child protection workers embody this commitment daily by providing expert guidance, advocacy, and compassionate care for children, youth, and families in need.
Here’s how you can get involved and show your support:
- Share your story: We invite social workers and child protection workers to share personal experiences that highlight the impact of their work.
- Join the conversation: Use the hashtag #SoAreWe on social media to recognize the important contributions of social workers and child protection workers.
- Stay Connected: Follow our Agency’s social media pages for updates and recognition posts.
Let’s take this week to honour and recognize the dedication, compassion, and resilience of these everyday heroes who uplift others with empathy and expertise.
To all the social workers and child protection workers at our Agency and beyond, thank you for your tireless efforts and for being the voice of change!
