Monday April 29, 2024 – Following an investigation conducted by the Ontario Ombudsman’s Office regarding a youth served in 2019, York Region Children’s Aid Society (YRCAS) has accepted all the recommendations outlined in the report.
YRCAS would like to share our deepest condolences over the tragic death of this young person.
YRCAS’ commitment to delivering exceptional services to the children, youth and families of York Region is supported by critical feedback and effective accountability measures. We continue to actively seek feedback from our key partners, stakeholders, service recipients, community members and professionals.
The report released today references services delivered prior to the operational review by the Ministry of Children and Community and Social Services (MCCSS). Over the past four years we successfully implemented all of the recommended changes and have been building strong community partnerships focused on child, youth and family well-being.
We appreciate the work of the Ombudsman’s Office and accept the current recommendations that will further enhance our services.
